1,243,029. Cathode-ray tubes. STANDARD ELEKTRIK LORENZ A.G. 30 Aug., 1968, No. 41461/68. Heading H1D. An anti-implosion band 6 for a cathode-ray tube of the type comprising a faceplate 7 joined to a cone 4 by a frit seal 5, e.g. a colour television tube, comprises a front portion which fits closely round the faceplate, and a rear portion which is spaced from the seal 5; the gap between the band and the seal may be filled with an insulating compound. Fastening means 9 such as latches, straps or loops may be disposed on the frame, and the band may be mounted from the screen side by pressing it over the tube.
