Abstract
1,242,164. Projectile fuzes. FORENADE FABRIKSVERKEN. 13 March, 1969, No. 13304/69. Heading F3A. A projectile fuze comprises a housing 1 containing a rotor 9 which carries a primer 13 in a transverse bore, the rotor being held in a safe position, against the action of a spring 11, by a slidable inertia sleeve 10 frictionally engaged in a transverse bore of the rotor, and a slidable inertia sleeve 8 which is urged into the bottom of an annular recess 15 in the rotor by a resilient annular disc 7 which is formed with slits extending outwardly from the central hole. Where the primer is an electric squib, an electrical contact 6, carried by an insulating sleeve 17, is provided. For percussion primers the contact is replaced by an axially moving hammer. The sleeve 10 comprises an internally threaded, split tube and engages a threaded stop 12. Upon firing the projectile fitted with the fuze, the sleeve 8 is pulled through the hole in the disc 7 and the sleeve 10 sets back in its bore, thereby releasing the rotor for movement into the armed position under the action of the spring 11. In the armed position the contact 6 touches a central contact of the squib.
