Abstract

1,239,838. Injection moulding machines. SACOMAT S.A. 13 Nov., 1968 [23 Feb., 1968], No. 53801/68. Heading B5A. Material plasticized by a screw 2 is fed into a metering chamber 9 and then injected into the mould by axial movement of the screw 2 and its casing 3, the screw 2 closing an opening 10 in the easing 3, and the screw and casing acting as an injection piston in the chamber 9. Feeding of material into the chamber 9 causes simultaneous withdrawal of the screw 2 and casing 3. This withdrawal is controlled by adjustable escape of oil from a jack 8 connected to the screw 2, and is stopped when a limit switch 17 is actuated by a contact 16. Switch 17 controls the feed to an hydraulic motor driving the screw 2.
