In a process for texturing a continuous filament e.g. cellulose acetate, yarn to produce interlaced and/or bulked e.g. looped, effects randomly distributed along the length of the yarn, the initial yarn is drawn through an air jet e.g. by a ring twisting spindle or by winding, thereby being unwound from a yarn package i.e. there is no positive feeding of the yarn to the jet although the yarn may be accompanied through the jet by another, positively overfed, filament yarn supplied thereto by a godet drawing the yarn from a spinning jet. The final yarn product may be a core yarn, have slubs along its length, with a looped yarn the loops of which are separated by interlaced portions randomly distributed along the length of the yarn.
