Abstract
1,238,761. Foam generators. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. 16 March, 1970 [16 April, 1969], No. 19503/69. Heading B1C. In a foam generator with a water powered fan motor through which water passes to nozzles for dispersion on a mesh, a water discharge pipe is connected upstream of the point of injection of foam solution in order to relieve the system of excess motor water without waste of foam solution. In one embodiment, part of the water pumped through the motor 3 is passed through a venturi inductor 8 associated with a foam supply and part is discharged through a pipe 9 at a rate controlled by a valve 10 according to readings of a gauge 14 calibrated to indicate discharge through nozzles 13. In an alternative embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown) the inductor is placed in a by-pass line connected between the motor and nozzle supply lines.
