A desk comprises a sub-top 20 having transverse grooves 24, 26, 28, 30, in which the top edges of bulkheads 40, 44, 46, 42 are fastened, a back panel 16, Fig. 3, disposed in a longitudinal groove 22 in the sub-top 20 and having grooves for the back edges of the bulkheads 40, 44, 46, 42, a knee wall panel 62 disposed in a second longitudinal groove 36 in the sub-top 20 between the two inner bulkheads 44, 46, and bottom panels 64, 66, 68 secured in notches in the bottom edges of the four bulkheads. The sub-top is cut out at 34, 35, 36, 38. A leg structure 10 comprises a flat U-shaped member (12) to the legs of which bars (14) are welded to extend at right angles to the U-member (12). Pins (18) may space the bars (14) from the U- shaped members (12). Two U-shaped members (12) are secured by screws and tabs 70 in inverted disposition to the end bulkheads 40, 42 and an end panel 8 is secured within each U-shaped member (12). A top 2 is secured by screws to the sub-top 20.
