Abstract

1,235,676. Residue arithmetic for complex numbers. I. Y. AKUSHSKY, D. I. G. JUDITSKY and I. T. PAK. 18 Feb., 1968, No. 38080/67. Heading G4A. Complex numbers z k are represented by sets of positive real residues {rj k } with respect to a complex base {pj + iqj}, 1 # j # n, this being possible by virtue of a theorem of Gauss providing pj and qj are mutually prime for all j; arithmetic operations are performed upon the residues, and the results are transformed back into complex numbers. The theory given is incomplete.
