A veterinary preparation for combating worms (as defined) in game birds comprises an aqueous solution of an alkyl-substituted, chloro or bromo-substituted phenol in soluble form and a flavouring to mask the taste of the phenol. In an example, 2, 4-dichloro-3, 5- dimethyl phenol, sodium salt is used and aniseed is used as flavouring.
