Abstract

1,234,100. Substituted guanamines. ARMOUR PHARMACEUTICAL CO. 15 Aug., 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 39087/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of formula and their non-toxic acid addition salts, wherein R is C 3-5 or C 7-10 cycloalkyl, 1- or 2-cyclohexenyl, norbornyl, or phenylcyclopropyl. These compounds are prepared by refluxing RCN with dicyandiamide, in ethyleneglycol mono-methyl or -ethyl ether, in presence of a basic catalyst such as KOH. In Example V, 6 - cyclohexylguanamine is prepared by hydrogenating 6- (3<SP>1</SP>-cyclohexenyl)guanamine. Therapeutic compositions for treating inflammatory conditions comprise the above compounds with conventional adjuvants. Administration may be oral, topical, intravenous or pancaval.
