[Also in Divisions A4 and B8] An agricultural trailer having a support foot 7, actuable by a piston cylinder assembly 10, and a moving scraper floor 13 has a loading mechanism comprising loading members 27 rotatable about a vertical or other non horizontal axis such as tubes 19. The trailer comprises a load carrying superstructure 12 with a supporting plate extension 18 at the rear of which the tubes 19 are mounted and are driven through chain and sprocket drives 36, 33, 29 from a shaft 38 driven by the power take off of a tractor or other towing vehicle. The loading members mounted on the tubes 19 comprises horizontal knives 25 and vertical catches or teeth 26 each mounted alternately at 90 degree positions on discs 24. The loading mechanism comprises four tubes 19 mounted in contra rotating pairs. To load manure from a heap the trough is tilted to the chain line position by a piston cylinder assembly 16 and the members 27 are actuated to load the structure 12 in which the floor 13 moves to feed the load into the structure. Reverse actuation of the floor 13 and members 27 with the structure horizontal unloads the trailer and if desired spreads the manure. An alternative use of the trailer is to cut and load crop by driving the trailer rear wards along rows of crop such as maize. In modifications the load carrying structure may be mounted on a parallel linkage which may be actuated to raise it for loading or unloading. A crop pick up mechanism may be provided to pick up and feed crop to the loading members. A canopy pivotably mounted above the members 27 may be actuated to pivot down to force material towards the members and the canopy and loading members may be pivotably and foldably mounted so that they can be folded into an inoperative position under the trough. Curved flaps may be operable to close in the end of the load-carrying structure.
