Abstract

1,233,427. Confectionery packaging. I. D. BARET & CO. Ltd. 3 Nov., 1969 [1 Aug., 1968], No. 36821/68. Heading B8C. Mouldable material, such as chocolate, is packaged by melting and pouring it into a decorative mould 2 which is preferably made of polystyrene, has flat side margins 2a of rectangular shape, and is colour printed to depict for instance a tumbler doll, the mould 2 with the chocolate set therein, then being inverted and inserted in a protective tray 3 which is preferably enveloped in a transparent sealing material and has hollow protective walls 3a. The enclosure 3 can be formed from a scored flat carton blank of cardboard by folding the rectangular bore-section walls 3a over the edges 2a of the mould 2. Alternatively, the mould may be slid into position with three walls of the blank pre-erected and then erecting the fourth wall. The enclosure has a detachable access panel 3b defined by a perforated line 3c. A printed design on the panel 3b can be coloured and the remainder of the package can be used as a jelly mould or, suspended like a picture after punching out a circular zone 3d.
