Abstract

1,231,424. Turbine and compressor blades. ROLLS ROYCE Ltd. Nov. 10, 1969, [Nov.15, 1968], No. 54287/68. Headings F1C and F1T. The tip 28 of an aerofoil blade, e. g. for a turbine or compressor, is bent by up to 30 degrees towards the convex surface of the remainder of the blade to ensure that the frequencies of the tip vibrational modes lie above the operating speed range of the blade. The latter may be a rotor or stator blade for a gas turbine engine.
