Abstract

123,084. Dispot, A. Feb. 4, 1918, [Convention date]. Fixed-abutment type; arrangement of bearings.-The rotor 3 of a rotary pump having outwardly-sliding vanes 4, 5 cut away and reinforced at the middle, is overhung on the end of the shaft 1 of the driving motor, thereby dispensing with bearings in the pump casing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the following subject-matter :-The pump casing 6 is closed by an easily removable cover 12, Fig. 8 (Cancelled), having an interrupted screwthread by which it is forced against packing 13 by means of a key applied to the shaft of a pinion 14 engaging a toothed sector 15 on the cover. The stuffing-box 16 contains plastic metal packing adapted to be compressed by a tangent screw 17, Fig. 9 (Cancelled). The cutaway vanes 4, 5, Figs. 2 and 3, bear on a casing liner 10 of special contour, Figs. 5 and 6 (Cancelled), having apertures to facilitate the removal of foreign bodies. The invention is applicable to rotary pumps of all types. The device shown in Fig. 8 (Cancelled) form the subjectmatter of Specification 130,001. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
