Abstract

1,228,939. Anodic oxidation of tantalum or niobium. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. July 18, 1968 [July 22, 1967], No.34324/68. Heading C7B. Dielectric oxide layers are formed on Ta or Nb bodies for electrical capacitors by anodic action in an electrolyte mixture consisting of 47 to 90% acetic or propionic acid with the remainder provided by a 1% aqueous solution of phosphoric acid. The forming voltage employed may be up to 400 volts.
