Abstract

1,226,481. Valves. CONCORDIA MASCHINEN-UND ELEKTRIZITATS-G.m.b.H. 18 April, 1969 [30 April, 1968], No. 19986/69. Heading F2V. A snap-action three-way valve has a hinged closure member 16 biased as shown into engagement with seat 17 by a spring 13 seating against a sleeve 12 surrounding a pocket in a sealing diaphragm 3, 3a which receives a liner 11 and the end 10 of an armature 5 pivoted on blade 8. Upon de-energization of coil 4, spring 24 returns the armature to stop 26 and spring 13 pivots closure member 16 with an over-centre action into contact with seat 18. The snap action is enhanced by a clearance between spring seats 12, 14. Closure member 16 is coated with a sealing material and pivots about points 15, 19. Stop 26 can be used to control the valve. In a modification, the armature is situated between a pair of coils and extends outwardly to allow direct actuation and provide position indication.
