Abstract
1,225,792. Water-tube water heaters and steam generators. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 31 May, 1968 [5 Dec., 1967], No. 26190/68. Heading F4A. In a portable oil or gas-fired water heater or steam generator having self-supporting gas tight welded tube walls 2, 3, 4, 5 defining a combustion chamber 1, the top 7 of a flue 9 beneath the combustion chamber forms at least part of the base of the combustion chamber and the sides of the flue are formed by the tube walls 4 and 5. Tubes extending longitudinally of the flue 9 form the top 7 and base 14 of the flue. The top 7 is covered with refractory bricks 25. Contact heaters 10, 11, 12 are arranged in the flue 9 and a contact heater 16 is arranged in the sheet metal flue extension 15. The contact heating tubes (21), Fig. 4 (not shown), are supported on the lower parts of the walls 4 and 5 or on the base 14 of the flue. In a steam generator, heaters 10 and 11 are superheaters and heaters 12 and 16 water preheaters. Water is supplied to the tube walls from a drum 18 through downcomer pipes 19 supporting the drum and steam flows through the flexible piping 24 to the drum.
