Abstract

1,225,635. Drying sludge; ash/sludge mixture. METALLGESELLSCHAFT A.G. 15 May, 1968 [16 May, 1967], No. 23163/68. Headings C1B and C1C. Thickened organic sludge from sewage is mixed with a flocculating agent with gentle stirring. Without mechanical stress the sludge is transferred to a centrifuge where a flocculating aid is simultaneously provided. The centrifuged sludge is incinerated and the ash mixed with partly dewatered sludge. This is granulated and pelletized for use as a fertilizer.
