Abstract
1,224,534. Rolling. SOC. NOUVELLE SPIDEM. 28 June, 1968 [29 June, 1967], No. 31131/68. Addition to 1,176,524. Heading B3M. Apparatus for balancing the work rolls of a rolling mill includes pivoted arms 17 which are operated by jacks 23 to bias the chocks 4 and 5 of the rolls vertically. Each arm co-operates with a groove in the associated chock, and is carried on a shaft 14, Fig. 2, to which an operating arm 21 is connected. Separate jacks 23 may be provided for each arm 21, or a single jack may extend vertically between two adjacent arms.
