Abstract

1,223,779. Colour television tubes. SYLVANTA ELECTRIC PRODUCTS Inc. 7 Aug., 1969 [12 Aug., 1968], No. 39663/69. Heading HID. The dismountable shadow mask 22 of a colour television tube is provided with mounting means 28 comprising apertured springs engaging studs 30 on the tube envelope, the springs being associated with means for preventing damaging contact between the mask and the studs. As shown, the springs are provided with extensions 42, 44 which protect the edges of the shadow mask during insertion. The extensions may be provided with lead-in grooves for the studs (see Fig. 3, not shown).
