Abstract

1,223,506. Printing machines. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. 16 Oct., 1969 [8 Nov., 1968], No. 50946/69. Heading B6C. [Also in Division F2] An adjustable bearing mounting for a roller e.g. a vibrator cylinder or inking cylinder of a printing machine which is to be moved transversely of its axis, has a supporting body 3 and a housing 1, one being attachable to the roller and the other to a support. The body and the housing are connected with one another by arms 12, 24 which permit relative movement between the body and the housing. Movement is effected by a piston 17, 18 and cylinder 15, 16 located in the supporting body acting on one of the arms 24. As illustrated one of the arms 12 is pivotally connected with the housing by a ball-pin 13 located in a spherical socket 28 located in an adjuster screw 29. The arm 12 is radially movable in the support body 3 and is urged outwardly by a spring 14. Situated diametrally opposite the ball-pin 13 is a roller 25 carried on a triangular arm 24 having two further rollers 22, 23. The triangular arm is connected to the supporting body 3 by a ball bearing 27 and is connected with the housing by the roller engaging in a slot 26 in the housing. The rollers 22 and 23 engage the pistons 17, 18. Adjustment is effected by admitting or releasing air in the cylinders 15, 16 in which the pistons are located. The supply of air is controlled by a solenoidoperated valve 36. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) one of the pistons is replaced by compression springs (37).
