Abstract

1,222,559. Injection moulding. KITAMURA RESEARCH Ltd. 17 April, 1968, No. 18225/68. Heading B5A. [Also in Division F2] In a method of injection moulding a tubular valve body 13 about a rotatable apertured valve member 1 having a stem 3, a moulding material release agent is applied to the surface of the member 1 and the agent is then coated with material which forms a relatively soft synthetic resin layer 5; the member is placed within a split mould 7 and a relatively hard synthetic resin material is injected therein to form the valve body which is integrally bonded to the layer 5. A passage is formed in the valve body by a core assembly fitted to the member 1 and comprising a bolt 8 surrounded by a sleeve 9 and cylindrical cores 10, the assembly being held together by nuts 12 on the bolt.
