Abstract

1,222,432. Bag-delivering machine. WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER. 21 March, 1968 [6 April, 1967], No. 13732/68. Heading B5D. [Also in Division B8] In a paper or plastics materials bag delivery device the bags, from a bag-making machine, are collected and superimposed into sets of two or more bags by a gripper roll 8, which sets are decelerated on braking strips 27a-27c and conveyed to a delivery cylinder 35 provided with grippers 34 which deposits said bags in a vertical position on a delivery table 37 and combines them into a stack. Bags are fed in succession to the delivery device by conveyers 2, 4. The gripper roll 8 picks up the first bag by means of grippers 9, performs one revolution (the bag being held to the surface of the cylinder by belts 25) and then deposits this bag on top of the next succeeding bag. This set of two bags is then conveyed by conveyers 4 to braking pads 27a-27c which decelerate the set of bags to a suitable velocity. The ends of the bags abut against stop fingers 36 which control the set of bags prior to collection by the delivery cylinder 35. Sets of more than two bags can be formed if the set of grippers 9 are controlled to grip the initially formed set of two bags and to deposit this set on the next succeeding bag and so on until the desired number of bags is collected in the set.
