Abstract
1,222,015. Spinning apparatus. PALITEX PROJECT CO. G.m.b.H. 21 June, 1968 [23 June, 1967], No. 29712/68. Heading D1D. [Also in Division F2] A pivoted lever 23 mounted on the inside of a whorle 5 of a spindle rotor 3 normally pivots outwards due to centrifugal force but when the whorle is braked it can enter a recess 20 in a fixed part of the spindle mounting to accurately locate an eyelet 7 for rethreading. A member 19 enters the recess axially to remove the lever 23 from the recess to allow the spindle to rotate. The spindle is tangentially driven from a belt 4 and is braked by rotating a member 17 to force agent brake shoes 14, 15 this braking action is provided from a handle 48 pivoted at 45. Rotation of the handle also causes the rod 19 to descend thus exposing the recess 20 and allowing the lever 23 to fall in when it has slowed down sufficiently. Various arrangements of recess engaging members may be provided including bolts and balls mounted in guideways. An overload release in the brake handle may be provided as shown in Fig. 8 such that if the force exerted by lifting the handle 48 is too great the pin 43 compresses spring 53 and a catch 54 is released to release the brake and allow the spindle to rotate fractionally until the recess is properly engaged and the spindle locked in the desired position.
