Abstract
1,221,474. Photographic silver halide printout materials. EASTMAN KODAK CO. April 5, 1968 [April 7, 1967], No.16421/68. Heading G2C. Photographic silver halide materials which may be used either as print-out or as developing- out materials, have an emulsion layer in which the silver halide grains contain occluded tetravalent metal ions, such as Os, Ir or Pt ions, the materials also containing in the emulsion or another layer a halogen acceptor, e.g. a hydrazine, thiourea, thiosemicarbazone, urazole, thiourazole, selenourazole, heterocyclic or aromatic mercaptan halogen acceptor. The materials give a print-out image on exposure which may be stabilized by removal of the halogen acceptor by washing, oxidation or heating. Alternatively, after exposure sufficient to give a latent image the materials may be chemically developed and fixed to provide a permanent image.
