Abstract

1,221,225. Electrical connectors. SOLARTRON ELECTRONIC GROUP Ltd. 28 Feb., 1968 [1 March, 1968], No. 10179/68. Heading H2E. An electrical connector 10 made of a deformable metal, e.g. mild steel sheet, comprises an elongate body having one or more fins 15, 16, one or more lugs 20, 21 bounded substantially by the same planes as the fin or fins and one or more stop members 18, 19 which are bent out of the plane of the body. The connector may be secured in an aperture in an insulating sheet, e.g. of ceramic, of suitable thickness to lie in the region of the fins 15, 16. Lugs 20, 21 are deformed after assembly to retain the connector in the insulating sheet. A U-shaped receptacle 12 in which one end of an electric lead wire may be crimped, and a hole 24 at the end 11 to receive a snap-on connector (not shown) may also be provided. An electric heating element mounted in the outlet duct of a crossflow blower (not shown) uses two such connectors with the terminal leads crimped to portions 12 of the connectors.
