Two transducers 1, 2 connected to a common load 5 are alternatively energized through respective diodes 3, 4 by power sources 8 and 9 energized or not according to the state of a bi-stable circuit 10 controlled by a trigger pulse source 11. The transducers may be photo-cells, thermistors, polarized microphones or strain gauges and need not be of the same type. If photo-cells, they may be sensitive to different colours and may be used in the document reader of Specification 1,215,302.
