Abstract

1,219,736. Feeding and delivering sheets. BULL GENERAL ELECTRIC (NEDERLAND) N.V. 4 June, 1969 [7 June, 1968], No. 28242/69. Heading B8R. A record card receptacle comprises an inclined base 10-11 and two end supports 14, 62 movable along the base. Cards are delivered by rollers 12, 13 between fixed end-plate 19 and the face of a stack held by upper end support 14. A completed stack is lowered on support 14 to an intermediate position (shown dotted) where it is transferred to lower end support 62 which is moved to the intermediate position simultaneously with support 14. The transferred stack is lowered on support 62 into contact with friction separator belts 80. Upon reaching the intermediate position support 14 is automatically pivoted to a level below the base to permit return of the support beneath the stack (now carried by support 62) to its uppermost position. Rotating cams 20 push the stack away from a deflecting plate 18 to permit insertion of each card into the stack by rollers 12 and 13, and also align an inserted card on the base 10-11. The receptacle forms part of a card sorting apparatus wherein a plurality of such receptacles are arranged side by side such that the supports 62 of the receptacles may be moved simultaneously on a common carriage.
