Abstract

1,219,603. Fuel injection pumps. FRIEDMANN & MAIER. Feb. 9, 1968 [Feb. 9, 1967], No. 6563/68. Heading F1A. In an in-line type fuel injection pump, the camshaft is supported in end bearings 2, 3 and a centre bearing 6 which is open topped and comprises flanges 8, 9 disposed on either side of a cam 15 for actuating a feed pump secured over an aperture (16) in the housing. The bearing 6 is insertable through the aperture (16) and is bolted to the housing. The thrust side of the bearing has a greater circumferential bearing surface than the un-thrust side; the bearing is reversible.
