Abstract

1,218,141. Ignition systems. C. MIMOUN. March 17, 1969 [March 21, 1968; Oct. 3, 1968; Dec. 11, 1968], No. 13909/69. Heading F1B. An ignition improving device for use with a coil ignition system of an internal-combustion engine comprises a circuit breaking means 22, 23 and an electrical actuating circuit 19 for the circuit breaking means connected in parallel with the latter, the circuit breaking means being intended for connection in series with the primary winding 10 of the ignition coil. The actuating circuit is effective to cause repeated actuation of the circuit breaking means when the contact breaker points 12, 15 of the ignition system are often circuited. The impedance of the actuating circuit is such that upon open cir - cuiting of the circuit breaking means it has substantially no effect upon the current flow conditions of the primary winding of the ignition coil. A number of embodiments of the invention are described.
