Abstract

1,218,095. Wall plugs. GLAREX A.G. 9 April, 1968 [12 April 1967], No. 17089/68. Heading F2H. An expandable wall plug comprises a generally cylindrical body 1 having a longitudinal slit (2) (Fig. 2, not shown) extending in a diametrical plane and arranged to allow expansion of the body when a screw associated therewith is tightened, and flat resilient lugs 5 which prevent the body 1 from rotating when the body is arranged in a bored hole and the screw is tightened, the lugs 5 being each arranged in a plane which forms an acute angle with the plane of the slit and being triangularly constructed so that their edges 7 are substantially parallel when the lugs are bent over the body 1. The wall plug may be of plastics material and the longitudinal slit (2) is arranged at one of its ends to be at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the body 1. The lugs 5 may be arranged adjacent to recesses (6) (Fig. 6, not shown) in the body 1 and a notch (8) may be provided at the junction of each lug 5 and the body 1 to weaken the lugs 5 in the region of said junctions.
