Abstract

1,217,793. Vehicle window actuating mechanism. WEBASTO-WERK G.m.b.H. 25 Aug., 1969 [23 Oct., 1968], No. 42308/69. Heading E2M. [Also in Division F2] A vehicle window operating mechanism comprises a bridge 6 which moves with the window 2 and carries an electric motor 5 having a hollow drive shaft 7 through which is guided a screw-threaded cable 4, one end of which is secured to vehicle structure at 9, and the motor shaft 7 carries a wheel 8 which is in screw-threaded engagement with the cable 4. As the window 2 moves in one direction the free end of the cable 4 passes into a guide tube 10. The cable portion between the end fixing 9 and the motor is housed in a telescopic guide tube 11, 12. Springs 13, 14 urge the part 2 in the closure direction. The motor 5 may have an overload switch or an overload slipping clutch.
