Abstract

1,217,168. Polyurethane foam containing laminate. EDUCATIONAL & MUNICIPAL EQUIPMENT (SCOTLAND) Ltd. 3 Sept., 1968 [2 Sept., 1967(2)], Nos. 40224/67 and 40225/67. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions A4 and B6] A method for producing panels comprises applying sheet materials such as plastics materials, wood, pegboard, lino, cork-board, polyvinylchloride film, alloy, metal or hardboard to the top, bottom, sides and ends of a mould and injecting first and second components of a polyurethane foam into the cavity between the sheets the first component comprising a prepolymer of polyisocyanate, polyethylene glycol and an emulsifier and the second component comprising water, polyethylene glycol and a catalyst, allowing the components to react and set to produce a rigid polyurethane foam and finally removing the composite punch from the mould. The panels are used in furni. ture construction for e.g. blackboards, bulletin boards, table tops, cupboards, bookcases and shelving units, and also for caravan bodies and floors.
