Abstract
1,216,727. Pneumatic tyres. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE A.G. 2 Oct., 1968 [2 Dec., 1967], No. 46843/68. Heading B7C. To eliminate lateral forces during the running of a tyre, the parallel cord plies of a breaker strip 6 are folded so that a portion 11 half the width of the tread lies radially outward of a full-width portion 8, and the cords of the radially outer surface of the strip are arranged in a V-formation. By a further fold (Fig. 1) or by the addition of a similarly folded ply (Fig. 3), the cords of which preferably cross those of the first, the cords of the radially inner surface of the strip may be similarly arranged.
