Abstract

1,216,286. Spray producers. AMERICAN STANDARD Inc. 5 June, 1969 [6 June, 1968], No. 28503/69. Heading B2F. Nozzles for liquid spouts comprise a sleevelike body 32 having a central axis, a rosette 50 housed within the body and defining in the bore of the body a plurality of straight passageways 54 in the direction of the axis, and at least two axially spaced part-spherical screens 62, 64 in the bore of the body downstream of the rosette each screen having its concave side facing upstream towards the rosette. The rosette may be formed by folding a strip of perforate screen material. Preferably at least two screens are provided with the downstream screen of smaller curvature than the upstream screen, the edges being contiguous and crimped in retaining ring 66. At least one planar screen 38, 40 may be provided upstream of the rosette, and the nozzle bone may be tapered 74 downstream of the curved screens.
