Abstract

1,215,856. Storage containers. DART INDUSTRIES Inc. 30 Jan., 1968, No. 4785/68. Heading A2D. [Also in Division B8] A lettuce or the like is supported away from the base of a container by being impaled on a spike 33 provided on a tray portion 25 of an insert. The tray portion 25 is formed with feet to raise it above the container base, and is apertured for drainage. The spike may be solid or hollow, and may be apertured to allow the passage of moisture. A lid 17 sealingly engages the top of the container and has a domed part 18 which can be depressed to a stable concave condition to engage a side wall 20 more tightly against the container wall.
