Abstract
1,214,601. Clock winding mechanisms. HATTORI TOKEITEN K.K. March 17, 1969 [March 21, 1968], No.13928/69. Heading G3T. A mainspring winding device for a clock mounted in a tachograph comprises a ratchet wheel 12 mounted for rotation with an arbor 6, a winding lever 15, a feed-pawl 17 which is movable in response to winding movement of the lever to drive the ratchet wheel and a detent 20 to prevent reverse rotation of the ratchet wheel. The pawl 17 is secured to a plate 14 by a pin 18, the plate and the lever 15 being mounted on a hub 13 on the arbor 6. The pawls 17, 20 are biased by springs 19, 22 towards the ratchet wheel which they engage at points defining an angle #. A reciprocating rotation of the lever 15 similarly rotates the plate 14 and therefore causes the pawl 17 to rotate the ratchet wheel thereby winding the spring 11 when the pawl moves in one direction. A spring (23), Fig.3 (not shown), returns the plate each time to an initial position defined by the abutment of the pin 18 with a plate 8. During the initial movement of the pawl 17 the plate 14 is not subjected to the restoring force of the spring (23) so that the pawl is freely slidable along the surface of the tooth with which it is in engagement until it abuts the edge of the next tooth whereupon it drives the ratchet wheel, the plate 14 then being subjected to the restoring force of the spring. The clock housing 5 ispivotally mounted in the tachograph housing.
