Abstract

1,213,800. Conveying glass. COMPAGNIE DE SAINT-GOBAIN. 23 June, 1969 [24 June, 1968], No. 31541/69. Addition to 1,078,878. Heading ClM. [Also in Divisions B8 and F2] Glass sheets heated to softening temperature are conveyed on rollers which are rigid and not subject to deformation, the rollers being provided with a resilient facing of fibrous refractory material in the form of a felt which is stable at the working temperature. The felt is preferably in the form of a ribbon wound helically round the roller with a space between successive terms of up to 1 mm., being attached to the roller by an air-dryable refractory cement. The felt is preferably of ceramic silico-aluminous fibres. The glass sheets may be carried by such rollers in a re-heat oven for tempering glass, at 780- 800‹ C.
