[Also in Division G5] A sound damping element comprises a substantially H-shaped section of which two wings 4, 5, are longer than the two other wings 6, 7. A number of such elements are interconnected, by means of their locking portions 10, 11, to form a panel, as shown, the U-shaped spaces defined by each element combining to form chambers 15 each having a passage 16 of a width equal to that of a groove 14 formed in a base 3 of each element and such that sound waves entering the chambers 15 give rise to correlative vibration of wings 6, 7. Comer assemblies of such panels are also described (Figs. 4-6, not shown).
