Abstract

1,211,075. Securing carpets. R. SMITH. 20 Nov., 1967 [19 Nov., 1966], No. 51890/66. Heading A4S. A carpet-securing device comprises a U-clip 16 secured to a floor near to a wall, and a hardboard or plastics strip having a serrated edge 18 round which the carpet edge is folded, the strip being rotated about the ridge 28 and slid to abut the opposite edge thereof against the closed end 26 of the clip. The clip has a carpetengaging spike 22 and, in a modification, an apertured extension for securing the clip to a wall. Adjacent strips, cut to required length, may be held together by clamps or connecting pieces.
