Abstract
1,209,661. Wagon doors. DEUTSCHE WAGGON-UND MASCHINENFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 3 Jan., 1968 [3 Jan., 1967], No. 468/68. Heading B7L. In a refrigerator vehicle having a roof 11, Fig. 1, a side wall 12 and a lower frame 13, a flush fitting door 14 in the side wall 12 is opened by firstly moving the door transversely of the wall 12 and then sliding it parallel to the wall. The invention is characterized by providing means to space the door wholly from the wall and maintain it parallel thereto as it is slid to. the open position. The door 14 is provided with bearings 28, 30 and 29, 31 for vertical rotatable bars 26, 27. The bars 26, 27 have fixed thereto upper and lower levers 22, 24 and 23, 25, the upper levers 22, 23 being pivoted to studs 51, 52 having rollers engaged in an upper guide rail 55 on the wall 12. The lower levers 24, 25 are pivoted to roller support devices 16, 17 which are engaged with a supporting rail 21 on the wall 12. The roller devices 16 and 17, have upper rollers 53, 54 which engage in a lower guide rail 56 on the wall. Referring to Figs. 1 and 3, the lever 24 has a roller 58 engaging a curved member 60 fixed under the guide rail 56 and a roller 57 which when the bar 26, carrying the door, is swung in the direction of the arrow 26, passes through a slot 59 in the rail 56. At the same time the roller 58 moves from the position shown in Fig. 3 to the position previously occupied (in plan view) by the roller 57. Thereafter the rollers 53, 57 can move along the guide rail maintaining the door spaced from the rails 21, 55, 56 and to cause the door to move parallel thereto. Movement of the door to the left in Fig. 2 is prevented by the roller 53 engaging a stop 62 in the rail 56. In another embodiment a roller equivalent to the roller 57 is supported by a rocking lever mounted on one of the roller support devices moving along the rail 21 and is arranged to pass through a gap in that rail as described with reference to Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown).
