Abstract

1,209,285. Dry shavers. G. YAMAOKA. 29 July, 1969, No. 38080/69. Heading B4B. A cutting head for a dry shaver comprise a flexible shearing foil 1 adapted to fit around a movable cutter 2 and having ends loosely connected to a frame member 3 by fastening means 5, 6, and a resilient member 4 for urging the foil against the frame member at locations spaced from the positions of the fastening means. The fastening means includes a screw 5, engaging with a nut 6 having a shoulder 11 passing through a clearance hole 12, Fig. 2, in the foil 1. The resilient member 4 is provided with slots 13, 14 to increase its resilience, the slots 13 having enlargements 17 for engagement with shoulders 18 on the nuts. When the resilient member 4 is fitted as shown in Fig. 2, projections 15, 16 thereon press the foil against the frame member. In a modification, the projections 16 are replaced by projections (20, Fig. 5) having retaining portions (22) which pass through apertures 21 in the foil. The foil may be provided with a reinforcing plate (19).
