The coolant circuit of a gas-cooled nuclear reactor is provided with magnetic filters which remove dust from the coolant. In a carbon dioxide cooled, graphite moderated reactor, dust constituted mainly of carbonaceous material and oxides of iron, chromium, nickel, silicon and alumina are deposited.
