Abstract

1207825 Thatched roofing K F HANSEN [trading as KOFA V/K FJELLERUP HANSEN] 9 Nov 1967 [9 Nov 1966] 51045/67 Index E1A 296 A thatched roofing has an outer layer 1 of straw or reed embedded into a base 2 of a plastics foaming material. The roofing is manufactured by an apparatus consisting of two conveyer belts 14 and 15. Straw or reed is fed at 16 on the belt 14, foam is ejected by nozzles from a cross-bar 17, and the straw and foam are pressed together in the belts. The roofing thus obtained is cut into sheets or plates at the discharge end. The ends of roofing plates may be cut obliquely, be notched or of Z-shape to facilitate joining. The endless belts may be heated to aid foaming.
