[Also in Divisions C3 and D2] Paper-like products may be obtained by coating with aqueous clay dispersions biaxially oriented films extruded from compositions comprising 50 to 99 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin and 1 to 50 parts by weight of a polyvinyl alcohol resin, optionally together with plasticisers and stabilisers. In Example (7) a biaxially oriented film extruded from a composition comprising polypropylene, 98 mole per cent hydrolysed polyvinyl acetate, glycerol and diethylene glycol is coated with an aqueous dispersion containing clay, binders and surfactants.
