[Also in Division H2] Arrangement for controlling A.C. supplied to a load comprises a triac 3, a phase-shifting network connected to the control electrode of the triac and including a variable resistor 5, and a high frequency choke coil 4. The coil has a double core, the two sections having different depths and different ferromagnetic properties. The core material may be a nickel-steel alloy or soft iron alloyed with silicon. Certain of the components are carried on a printed circuit 24.
