Abstract

1,206,122. Shedding mechanism. WILSON & LONGBOTTOM Ltd. 19 Sept., 1968 [22 Sept., 1967], No. 43255/67. Heading DIE. Heald frames 4 are shed by cams b1, b2 selectively coupled to continuously driven motors h1 by pattern operated electromagnetic clutches f1, f2. One double ended motor drives two frames and eight frames may be operated from two motors at each side of the looms. An electrical circuit and pattern mechanism is provided that arranges for a pattern impulse to operate a clutch to turn a cam for one half a revolution to shed a frame to either a top or bottom sheet position. The cams may be braked when the clutches are released.
