[Also in Division G3] A room is ventilated through a plurality of ducts in which the flow of air through each duct is controlled by a motor-driven regulator positioned within the duct and under the control of a function of temperature and/or humidity of the air in that part of the room affected by the flow of air through that duct. As described, flow of air through each of a number of ducts in the roof, walls and/or floor of a two-story livestock house is separately controlled by a fan or vane responsive to the temperature and/ or humidity of the air in a part of the house, e.g. a passage, affected by the flow of air through the duct. In Fig. 3, a bridge circuit 34, including a capacity responsive to the humidity, produces a voltage which is modified in dependence on temperature by a temperature variable resistor 41 and combined with the voltage from a potentiometer 36 which determines the desired condition of the air. Any change in the resultant voltage is applied through a transistor amplifier 39 to a S.C.R. 42 shunting the output of a rectifier 45 to vary the energization of a winding 24 of a capacitor-start induction fan motor. The speed of the fan is thus varied to correct the air condition. In a modification, flow of air through the duct is controlled by a vane adjusted by an induction motor operated in the appropriate direction by one or other of two circuits of the type circuits of the type described above.
