Abstract

1,205,165. Squares rules. H. ALBER. June 5, 1968, No.26729/68. Headings G1M and G1X. A drawing square comprises a sheet of tranparent plastics material having a rectangular outer perimeter two adjacent edges of which are marked with scales 15, 16 calibrated from the common corner 14 a portion adjacent the other two rides being cut out in the form of a right angled isosceles triangle 24 to leave two inner edges 17, 18 parallel to the other two sides, the inner edges having scales 20, 21 calibrated from the common inner corner 22. A protractor scale 25 centred on the corner 22 is marked on the solid part 23 of the square and a circle 28 is also cut out, this circle having its centre on a diagonal of the square and being provided with marks at 45 degrees spacing round the circle. Etched lines 30 are provided parallel to the hypotenuse 26 of the triangle 24 to enable parallel lines to be drawn and the sides of the triangle are extended into slits 27 in the square. In alternative embodiments the square may comprise a simple hollow square frame, or a cut out in the form of a right angled isosceles triangle may be provided with the hypotenuse of the triangle parallel to one of the edges of the square.
