Abstract

1,203,781. Ignition interrupters. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 21 Feb., 1968 [20 March, 1967], No. 12933/67. Heading H1N. In an ignition distributer, a timing plate 26 carrying the contact breaker assembly 28 and coupled to a vacuum advance unit (not shown) is constrained to move in an arcuate path about the cam shaft 10a so that the contact gap is maintained constant. The plate 26 is slidably mounted on a corrector plate 23 and is constrained to move in the required arcuate path by engagement of a pin (29), Fig. 2 (not shown) in an arcuate slot (25) of the plate 23. A radial slot 27 engaged over a guide pin 14 accommodates the required radial movement. Contact gap adjustment is obtained by adjusting screw 19 which moves the plate 23 radially of the cam shaft through arm 12 carrying the pin 14 to which the plate 23 is attached. Slot (24) moving over a fixed pin (22) on the base-plate 11 guides the plate 23 radially during contact gap adjustment.
