Abstract
1,202,949. Valves; pipe couplings. F & R ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. 19 May, 1969 [21 May, 1968], No. 24171/68. Headings F2G and F2V. A flexible sleeve 1 in a pinch cock is, in its uncompressed state, axially longer than the body 2 and is axially compressed within the body by an end plate 8 secured to the body to seal the sleeve to the body. A wedge 7 may facilitate this seal. An end plate may be secured to both ends of the body or one end of the sleeve may abut an internal body abutment. A flange 12 on a pipe 13 is secured to the body by bolts 15 passing through holes in the plates, a seal 11 in groove 10 sealing the connection. Neoprene is used for the sleeve.
